Initially powered by JIANFENG and LEOMAX,
the two cement groups in China’s eastern Zhejiang province which formed the
backbon of SOUTH CEMENT GROUP which is in turn part of the world’s largest
cement group of TIANSHAN in the aftermath of waves of mergers and acquisitions
in China’s huge cement market, SINOCEM becomes the founder and leader of cement
export in China with 15 years of export experience and accumulated knowledge in
overseas markets.
Today, SINOCEM has laid a solid foundation
to turn itself from a leading cement exporter into a power engine for overseas
investment powered by SOUTH CEMENT in operation plus management.
The company is headquartered in Hangzhou,
the beautiful city of ‘‘Paradise’’, and has branches or representative offices
in Africa and Latin America, mainly engaged in cement, steel, steel slags, fly
ash, concrete additives and other basic building materials. Before the
pandemic, the company annually exported more than several million tons of
cement to more than 40 sea ports in Africa and Central and South America, and
its two cement brands, SINOCEM and CEMSUR, were well known in Africa and Latin
America.
In 2013, SINOBULK and LEOMAX, two shipping
companies under SINOCEM, were set up in Singapore successively to manage and
operate the two shipping routes in Central and South America and Africa, to
ensure that the self-exported cement and other building materials arrive at
customers in a timely, safe and reliable manner.
In Africa, the products of SINOCEM are sold
to nearly 40 sea ports by CIF and DDU sea-land transportation. For example, in
Burkina Faso, the largest landlocked country in Africa, before the
establishment of diplomatic relations between the country and the People's
Republic of China, SINOCEM shipped more than one million tons of cement and
clinkers by sea-land transportation to Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina
Faso, every year. SINOCEM also provided guaranteed door-to-door cement supply
for UN aid projects, government assistance projects, and construction projects
undertaken by multiple central state-owned enterprises in Africa.
Cement trade with Central America started
before the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries in the
region and the People's Republic of China. So far, SINOCEM has accumulated rich
experience in exporting cement to the region, covering the whole Central and
South America, and has become one of the standard-setters of cement for some
countries in the region.
At this moment when the tariff policy is
reshaping the new pattern of global trade, SINOCEM is rapidly restructuring its
international business in a comprehensive manner, shifting its focus from
supplying China's advantageous products to supplying China's advanced
